Fear Of Disappointing Others

Why do we wrestle with fear about disappointing others?  How frequently do you concern yourself with delighting God?  If we place our focus on Yeshua (Jesus), we will discover peace amidst life storms.

If we do not truly believe Yahweh’s words to us, the storms in our lives will reveal this truth.  Satan appears against us to destroy us.  The battle originates in the mind and the effects surface in the physical world.  We must focus and trust God’s words to us.  To recognize the enemies lies, we must know the truth.  If we do not know, we will fall prey to Satan.

Know Your Enemy: Satan

Worry and fear, I suspect often originates with the enemy: Satan. Our adversary attempts to get our center of attention off God.  We become anxious.  We concern ourselves with what  others may think of us and/or distress ourselves with unnecessary fear of disappointing friends or family.  If the enemy can get our focus off track and keep us off course, he can distract us from locating the narrow spiritual road back to the kingdom of Yahweh.

Alter Your Focal Point Because Fear Will Lead To Failure

First of all, worrying about disappointing others means we already know that we will possibly fall short. This reveals a lack of faith in what Yahweh says.  We worry when we see the possibility of failure looming in the horizon.  When we go into anything fearful, this just hinders us from succeeding.  Yeshua says we are more than conquers through Christ.  The enemy says otherwise and causes us to fear disappointing others.

Secondly, fear of disappointing others implies we are not sufficiently focused upon God’s kingdom nor His words to us.  God said seek first the kingdom and everything else will be added unto you in Matthew 6:33. The cure to evade fear of disappointing others is to simply go back to Yahweh’s words in the Bible.

Don’t Worry Instead Seek First The Kingdom

For instance in Matthew 6:25-33 Yeshua (Jesus) teaches us that we should not worry about anything including disappointing men and women in our lives.

“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

When we focus on God’s words to us and seek first His kingdom, we will not worry needlessly about disappointing othersa tactic of Satan.  We will look towards obeying God and seeking the kingdom!  This is our goal!

Love Conquers Fear

If we love our neighbor as we love ourselves and love God with all our hearts mind and soul, we need not concern ourselves with fear of disappointing others.

God teaches us to walk fearlessly before Him. His words in Luke 12:32 says,

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

Yahweh enjoys giving His children wonderful things including a place in His kingdom.

God holds the key to the kingdom, and Yahweh sent Yeshua (His Son) to die to pay the penalty for our sins.  So, you and I can return home to see Yahweh face to face free from sin and shame!

Seeing With Our Spiritual Eyes

Satan misleads us and keeps the truth from us so we can believe lies and live in fear of disappointing others.  We focus on what we see physically with our eyes rather than trusting Yahweh and walking by faith using our spiritual sight.  If we use our spiritual eyes and walk by faith standing on Yahweh’s word, we will learn how to conquer fear and doubt!

We will quickly reject the lies of the enemy rather than entertain them.  We will instead live victorious lives full of joy and peace knowing it is our Father’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom!  We must diligently seek this kingdom!  This is a magical place of perfect beauty where Yahweh the creator dwells!  This is our primary goal!

Living In The Spirit

When we focus on the light of God, the darkness of Satan will vanish!  We will learn to give up walking in the flesh and walk in the spirit, pray in the spirit, live in the spirit, seeing and hearing in the spirit and being led by the Spirit of the living God.  Fear of disappointing others will become a thing of the past.  We will no longer operate in the spirit of fear, but in the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience and long-suffering.  We will focus and dwell on our goal: the heavenly kingdom our home with God forever.  Thus, we will conquer fear and doubt of disappointing others by the power of Yahweh’s Holy Spirit empowering us from within and discover the kingdom can be found within us!
