God does not always appear nor speak to us in ways we may imagine. God usually speaks softly to us and in ways we may miss if we do not know Him. A relationship with God like any relationship takes time and effort!
I personally feel that we need to believe that God is who He says that He is in the Bible, and He will do what He says He will do! We ought to stand on His every word to us! We will discover like Elijah the prophet that God does speak to those who obey Him. You must listen when He speaks if you want Him to speak again!
For example God speaks to Elijah the prophet here in 1 Kings 19:11-13 (KJV) below:
11 And he (Yahweh) said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?
How does God speak to us today? How do you recognize a spiritual God in the physical realm?
Yahweh works in the background of His children’s lives. It’s up to us to bring him to the forefront. We need to first acknowledge that God exist! Second, we must pray to Yahweh knowing He hears us! Third, we ought to get on our knees to seek His forgiveness for all our sins, beg Him to help us overcome our sins and plead for Him to help us conquer any and all sins we struggle to overcome! Finally, God expects believers to make a commitment to Him and become baptized, which symbolizes both our death to self and death to sin. We should now live to serve God–not sin!
Sin will no longer be an unmovable mountain along our path with God’s Holy Spirit living within us! Mark 16:15-20 (KJV) describes this power of God working in believers.
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
So yes we can indeed experience a personal walk and relationship with God today as the prophets and believers in the past. When believers obey what God tells us to do, remember these five signs shall follow:
1) They will cast out devils (out of the lives of friends, family and strangers).
2) They will speak in a new way (or with power from on high).
3) If they pick up any deadly thing, it will not harm them (the Holy Spirit, the life giver, lives within).
4) If they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them–(The Holy Spirit protects them).
5) When they touch the (physically and spiritually) sick, they will cause them to become well. Thus, others will know that this word we preach is indeed true! You will become a light to the world because the light of the world lives in you!
We, however, must believe Yahweh’s Gospel, study His words found in the Bible, love Yahweh with all our hearts mind and soul, ask for Him to speak to us and obey God’s every word! When we do what is pleasing in God’s sight He will not only reveal Himself to us, He will reestablish a relationship with us. This will bridge the divide between the physical and spiritual realm so we can form an everlasting relationship with Yahweh.
