“Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you.”
Knowledge of the Law of God
The Bible says my people suffer due to a lack of knowledge in Hosea 4:6 below:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.“
Isaiah 5:13 says, “Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.”
What is the law of our God?
God gave the Israelites the ten commandments and handwritten ordinances in the original covenant.
The Ten Commandments previously written on tablets of stone; God presently writes in our hearts.
2 Corinthians 3:3 “Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.“
Was tithing apart of the ordinances nailed to the cross?
Colossians 2:14 says, “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross”.
Deuteronomy 5:22 says, “These words the Lord spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.”
The Holy Spirit makes God’s laws a part of our character
Hebrews 10:16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;”
Romans 2:15 “Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)”
How do we get the seal of the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit God gives to us when we accept His words–without additions or subtractions.
Ephesians 1:13 “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”
Once you trust in God’s words after you hear the gospel and you believe the truth you hear then you are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise!
Ten Commandments Remain Forever Defining Sin
Psalm 111:7-9 says, “The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness. He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.”
Here is the link to the ten commandments in Exodus 20:1-17 in the Amplified Bible: Ten Commandments for those who may not know them.
What does it mean to love God?
1 John 5:3 says the following, “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”
2 John 1:6 reminds us that to love God means to obey His words: “And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.”
How Should We Give To Share And Teach The Love Of God Today?
In 2 Corinthians 9:7 Paul asked people to give as God has blessed you as they decide in their heart:
“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.“
God Warns Us
Matthew 7:14-16 “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits.
