Sir Francis Drake’s Prayer

6-15-20

My brother sent me this email; it was so powerful that I had to share:

I am reading a book titled Becoming Your Own Banker, which introduces a new concept and I will let you know what I think once I read further, but I wanted to share this prayer from the book that resonated with me.  It speaks volumes and is a great reminder to put God first.

Disturb us O Lord when we are too well pleased with ourselves, when our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little, when we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore.

Disturb us O Lord, when with the abundance of things we possess we have lost our thirst for the waters of life; having fallen in love with life, we have ceased to dream of eternity. And in our efforts to build a new earth, we have allowed our vision of the new Heaven to dim.

Disturb us, O Lord, to dare more boldly, to venture on wider seas where storm will show your mastery; where losing sight of land, we shall find the stars.

We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; and to push us in the future in strength, courage, hope and love.

This we ask in the name of our Captain, who is Jesus Christ.

— Sir Francis Drake’s prayer before he set out to be the first man to circumnavigate the world.

Portsmouth, England 1577

“And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”

— Deuteronomy 8: 17-18

I Know that His Commandment is Life Everlasting–John 12:50

Many people ask, “Does Yahweh answer prayers?”  I always say yes.  They look surprise and ask, “How do you know?”  I know because He answered many of my prayers!

What people really want to know is the secret to getting Yahweh to answer their prayers.  More importantly, they want to know how to get everlasting life!

Wouldn’t you want to know that God hears your voice and will respond to your prayers?

Many people pray though they have no faith that Yahweh hears them.  They just sort of go through the motion.  Others believe Yahweh exist and created all things, but they admit they don’t know Him.  God is somewhere yonder.

Well I promise you that you cannot only get to know Yahweh, you can know He hears you and will answer your prayers.  His answers often come in unexpected ways and often you must wait and trust in Him.  Waiting on Yahweh and believing in Him is paramount to getting your prayers answered.  His timing often takes years and other time He answers immediately and we see the results often within seconds, sometimes days, weeks and months.  Yahweh says a thousand years is but a day with Him so we must learn to wait and rely on Yahweh when we pray.

I speak from empirical evidence: my personal experiences for almost five  decades.  I cannot show you.  I can tell you so you can experience the presence of Yahweh too.  You can learn to wait on Yahweh and discover that He will answer your prayers.  If you heed His voice, He will hear and answer.  He will move heaven and earth to ensure, secure and bless His children that love Him.  How do you show love for Yahweh?

Yahweh simply ask that you obey His voice: His Ten Commandments: Holy Oracles or Royal Commandments. Many dismiss these commandments as archaic.  The Commandments reflect love and love exemplifies the character of our Creator Yahweh.  They miss out on a profound relationship with the Ancient of Days: Yahweh. They miss out on answered prayers.  They suffer because they lack knowledge of what Yahweh expects of them.  Our Creator expects us all to walk in love.  He told us exactly what to do when He spoke down those Ten Commandments to our Fore-parents long ago.

Many think God changed His mind regarding His Commandments to us; He has not annulled those commands.

The solution is simple: heed His voice.

Now my seventy eight year old father listed some key Bible verses that are at the end of this article that are the keys to your success in prayer and in life; however, I felt the need to share my thoughts to sort of prep you for the verses to follow–not truly necessary and you may just skip down to the verses.  My father who analyzes the Bible daily feels certain these verses will help you know for certain the true importance of the Ten Commandments.

These Royal Laws of love, Yahweh personally spoke down Mount Sinai for humanity to guide their lives and discover true wisdom–far greater than gold.  He, also, wrote them on two tablets of stone with His fingers–no errors by our Creator!

Do you want to work to obey Yahweh who offers you eternal life or work for the things of this world that will soon fade?

Do you want to work night and day slaving away for fiat money that has no true eternal value?  Wouldn’t you rather  pursue wisdom worth far greater than gold?  True wisdom that leads to eternal life with your Creator!

Wisdom Is Heeding The Voice of Yahweh: Obeying the Ten Commandments (Holy Oracles) Spoken By Our Creator for Our Good

Yahweh heals the sick, leads His people through challenges and protects them from harm.  Yet the people protected and guided had one thing in common,   they all obeyed the voice of Yahweh.  They obeyed the Ten Commandments that represents the character of Yahweh: love.  They remembered the fourth commandment to keep the seventh day established at creation holy–the Sabbath day  You demonstrate your love for Yahweh when you trust Him by obeying His voice.

If we ignore the voice of Yahweh, how will He respond to our prayers?

Our prayers will become abominable to Him because we disobey His voice!  We reject His Commandments to us and so he rejects our prayers to Him!

Yahweh Does Speak To Those Who Love Him

Yahweh spoke directly to John and Peter at the Mount of Transfiguration (Mark 9:2-30).  Yahweh says some very special words.  Those words spoken to the apostles were meant for us too.  Do you know what Yahweh wants you to hear that you may not want to hear?  He wants you and me to listen to Yeshua–see Mark 9:7.   Yeshua tells us to obey the voice of Yahweh.

Yahweh personally spoke to humanity.

And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. (Mark 9:7)

In John 14:15-17 Yeshua says the following:
15     ¶ If ***ye love me, ***(keep my commandments.)
16     And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17     Even ***the Spirit of truth;***( whom the world cannot receive,)

Observations of Lack of Reverence for Yahweh Written By King Solomon Son of King David (Proverbs 28 KJV)–repeated for emphasis.

9     ¶ He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.  (KJV)
9     ¶  Whoso is turning his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer [is] an abomination. (Young’s Literal Translation)
9     ¶ He ***that turneth away his ear from hearing the law,*** (even his prayer shall be abomination.)
Many wonder if God hears their prayers.  God says their prayer is an abomination–pretty serious! What causes some peoples prayers to be an abomination?
They turn away their ear from hearing and obeying Yahweh’s Ten Commandments: Royal Law.
How do we become blessed by Yahweh?
How does a person become ungodly?
Why should we delight in the law of Yahweh both day and night?
King David describes the requirements in Psalm 1:1-3.
1     ¶ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2     But his delight is in the law of the LORD;
and*** in his law*** doth he meditate day and night.
3     And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.*
*Remember anything repeated is for emphasis.
When you come before the judgement seat of God, what will God use to judge you?
Why must we know the Ten Commandments spoken by Yahweh?
John 12:48-50
48     He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him:
the ***word that I have spoken,*** the same shall judge him in the last day.
49     For I have not spoken of myself;
but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50     And I know that his commandment is life everlasting:
50     And I know that his commandment is life everlasting:
50     And I know that his commandment is life everlasting:

whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
How many think that Yahweh has forgotten His Ten Commandments?
Really?  God says I am God and I change not–see Malachi 3:6.   You ought to know that the ordinances such as tithing instituted because of transgression was done away.   Yahweh’s character of love distilled for us in the Ten Commandments remain for all eternity!
Satan the Author of Confusion
How many of you think Yeshua’s death on the cross grant us freedom to now break Yahweh’s laws with impunity?
Why did Yeshua need to die for the sins of the world if we do not have to obey Yahweh’s laws to us?
If we do not have laws, we cannot have sin.  Without sin there was no need that Yeshua die for the sins of the world.
Yahweh’s laws are still in effect!  They have always been in effect!  They will always be in effect!
Those who reject Yahweh’s Commandment reject Yahweh.  Those who reject Yahweh will reject Yeshua’s words sent by Yahweh too!  So you will know the children of Yahweh by their fruits: obedience to Yahweh’s words to us.
Let’s continue with the Bible verse from my father below:
Deuteronomy 4:40   Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.
Psalms 111:7   The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
Psalms 111:10   The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
1 John 2:3   And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1 John 2:4   He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1 John 3:22   And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him,
because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1 John 3:24   And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
1 John 5:2   By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep His Commandments.
1 John 5:3   For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
2 John 1:6   And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

ISAIAH CHAPTER 56
1     ¶ Thus saith the LORD,
2     Blessed ***is the man that doeth this,***(and the son of man that layeth hold on it;)
that keepeth*** the sabbath from polluting it,***(and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.)
3     ¶ Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD,
speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people:
neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
4     For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs ***that keep MY sabbaths,***
       and ***choose the things that please me,*** and take hold of my covenant;
5     Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls
a place and a name better than of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
Isaiah 58:13
not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
…not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
…better than of sons and of daughters:
I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
Let’s look at the entire words spoken by the prophet Isaiah speaking the words from Yahweh to us below:
ISAIAH 58
13     ¶ If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure ***on MY (holy day)***;
and ***call the sabbath a delight,***(the holy of the LORD,)
honourable; and shalt honour him,
not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14     Then ***shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD;***
and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth,
and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father:
for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Matthew 19

what good thing shall I do, ***that I may have eternal life? ***
what good thing shall I do, ***that I may have eternal life? ***
17     And he/JESUS said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God:
but if thou wilt enter into life,***keep the commandments.***
but if thou wilt enter into life, ***keep the commandments.***
but if thou wilt enter into life, ***keep the commandments.***
*******
Ecclesiastes 12
…but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
13     ¶ Let us hear*** the conclusion of the whole matter:***
Fear God, ***and keep his commandments:***(for this is the whole duty*** of man***. )
14     For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Should we obey the ordinances (the hand written laws of Moses) or the Ten Commandments (the handwritten laws of Yahweh)?
In 1 Corinthians  7:19 Paul wrote the following:
19     Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing,
but ***the keeping of the commandments***( of God. )
What did Paul say is not important (nothing) and what is important to keep (something)?
Let God’s word be true and every man that says otherwise a liar.
Why does Yeshua not want you to think that Yahweh sent Him to destroy the law?
Matthew 5
17     ¶ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets:
I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18     For ***verily I say unto you,***
(Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle
shall*** in no wise pass***=(NO WAY NO HOW) from the law, till all be fulfilled.)
You ought to read Matthew 5:19 too.  It brings the importance of even the least commandment.  Why should we not disregard the least important commandment?  What would be considered the least important?  In our world, the Sabbath or fourth commandment is considered the least relevant or important–the very one Yahweh says to remember (seen in Exodus 20)!
Why does God say that it is easier for heaven and earth to disappear or pass than for any part of His Ten Commandments to fail?
How can that help us see the relevance of the Ten Commandments when we look up into the blue sky He created?
Luke 16
17     And*** it is easier for heaven and earth to pass,***( than one tittle of the law to fail.)
17     And*** it is easier for heaven and earth to pass,***( than one tittle of the law to fail.)
17     And*** it is easier for heaven and earth to pass,***( than one tittle of the law to fail.)
How do we know if Yeshua kept the Ten Commandments, specifically the sabbath (fourth commandment)?
Luke 4:16
16     And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and,
as ***his custom was,***( he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day,)*** and stood up for to read.***
What does the Apostle Peter say represent the way of righteousness?
2 Peter 2:20-22
20     For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21     For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness,
than, after they have known it,*** to turn from (the holy commandment) delivered unto them.***
*******
22     But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb,
The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire
    *******
When someone rejects sin and turn to obey the Ten Commandments and learn the way of righteousness and go back into a life of sin rejecting the commandments of Yahweh, Peter compares this to a dog returning to his own vomit or a washed pig returning to wallow in the mud.
When you learn the way of righteousness by eradicating sin from your life and keeping the Ten Commandments, you must continue to do so.  You must not return to what makes you sick and dirty: sin!
Remember whom the Son sets free from bondage to sin is free indeed.  You are no longer a slave to sin, but you ought to become a slave to righteousness: staying clean from the abomination of sin.
How do we get access to the tree of life according the beloved Apostle John?
Revelation 22
14     Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life,
and may enter in through the gates into the city.
What will judge us on judgement day?  What criteria will the Judge use to judge us innocent or guilty?
John 12
48     He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth
the*** word that I have spoken,***( the same shall judge him in the last day. )
 *******
49     For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me,
he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50     And ***I know***( that his commandment is life everlasting: )
And*** I know***( that his commandment is life everlasting:)
And ***I know ***(that his commandment is life everlasting:)
whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
What words were engrafted on two tablets of stone by the Father’s finger?
James 1
21     Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness
(the engrafted word,)*** which is able to save *your* souls***.
22     But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Can you presumptuously break with impunity any one of Yahweh’s Ten Commandments?
James 2
10     For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11     For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Proverbs 28
9     ¶ He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
9     ¶ He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
9     ¶ He ***that turneth away his ear from hearing the law,***( even his prayer shall be abomination.)
My dearly beloved children, may the light of Yahweh’s Holy Spirit lead you to see the truth with your spiritual eyes and may you accept the engrafted word that is able to save your souls!

And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. (Luke 16:27 kjv)

God answers Heartfelt Prayer

We ought to respect Yahweh (and His children) by honoring God’s words. We can cherish Yahweh by reading, believing and applying His words to our daily lives. Respect conveys a feeling of deep admiration for Yahweh elicited by His abilities, qualities, and achievements. How few of us truly take the time to ponder and appreciate both God’s creation and the Holy Trinity.

For example, I remember as a youngster lying in bed one night on my back wondering in my mind’s eye about God. I searched for the Almighty beyond the ceiling and four walls of my bedroom one night. In my mind with my eyes shut I went searching for the Creator into the vast and black limitless universe passing innumerable stars in a never-ending ocean of darkness. I kept searching, exploring and watching the stars fly swiftly by for just more to reappear over and over again in the hopes of locating the Great Spirit. So this went on and on until my little mind determined I would not find Jehovah in such a manner. Thus, I trailed off to sleep never to run that type of experiment again.

Yahweh did in fact reveal Himself to me looking back as an adult, but as a child I did not recognize Him.

My grandmother at age seventy-seven suffered a second and final stroke that left her comatose in bed. I walked into my grandmother’s room and asked my mother if my grandma was dead. My mom said grandma was alive but sleeping. My mother got a small hand-held mirror to place under grandma’s nose. She pointed out the condensation or moisture on the glass on the mirror from each breath to reveal to me that my grandmother remains alive. My mother silently left the room, and I stayed behind with my grandmother watching over her at the foot of her bed. There I stood thinking about our times spent together.

Suddenly I heard my grandmother speaking to me initially responding to my question posed in my mind or a thought I pondered upon. Then, she asked me a question and I responded. This continued for a few minutes I would surmise–perhaps 5-10 minutes. The conversation went on and on in our heads through thought. We conversed about our experiences together and posed questions to each other to see if we recalled certain occurrences-smiling and chuckling at times. Finally, the discussion subsided naturally, and I said goodbye grandma. She said bye. The room became silent (no more dialogue flowing between us). I turned around and quietly left my grandmother’s room.

I stepped into a living room filled with people huddled together in a big circle. I felt trapped by adults shoulder to shoulder talking or praying in the middle of my home. I couldn’t leave the front door nor the back door unless I could somehow break through the grown-ups. So I stood still trying to figure out what to do. I could return to my grandmother’s bedroom or hang out in my parents’ room where I probably knew my father rested.

As I stood trying to decide what to do, I heard within seconds a voice immediately speak internally to me in a soft, slow and assertive way saying go back into your grandmother’s room. I responded, I just came out of there. The voice quickly spoke a second time in a louder and more powerful fashion to get my attention saying go back into your grandmother’s room! I responded saying that I don’t have anything to do in there. The voice without delay and surprisingly spoke a third time in an authoritative and urgent manner declaring, “Go back into your grandmother’s room!” I said okay walking swiftly into the room. I instantaneously screamed out loud “Grandma is dead!” as I got inside the room.

I heard my mother immediately shout back, Grandma is sleeping! She had recently checked on her five to ten minutes ago and she was in fact alive. I, however, shouted back even louder and more insistent: “Grandma is dead!”

Suddenly my mother rushed into the room, grabbed the same hand-held mirror, placed it to my grandma’s nose and discovered I was in fact right. She did not believe the mirror so she checked a second time. After looking at the hand mirror without condensation, she confirmed Grandma died. My mother sadly left the room to inform everyone.

My mind could not begin to contemplate what happened that day. I, however, never forgot the incident thinking over that day for the next fourteen years when recalling memories of my grandmother. I would recollect the supernatural events of that day that I could not explain away in any natural way. I literally communicated with my comatose grandmother via thought! I knew I did not imagine this! That was not even a question or doubt in my mind! Neither did I conjure up something or someone internally telling me to go back into my grandmother’s room.

As a science major with a bachelor’s degree, I am very analytical and practical. So what I experienced was in fact true though science cannot explain what happened to me.

My senior year at college my father dropped me off to school. On the way there he told me about his own history at the time his mother died (my grandmother Lilian). He did not want to see his mother starve and suffer before she died. Her brain hemorrhaged and the doctors sent her home to pass away not able to do anything further for her–no way to feed her at that time.

My father humbled himself, got on his knees at his bedside and begged the Lord to take his mother home if she would not come out the coma healthy and alive. He could not bare to watch his comatose mother suffer. He told God if she would not come out the coma to please take her home! My father said as soon as he finished praying (still on his knees), he heard the voice of an angel scream twice that his mother died. He said he raised both his hands looking up towards the sky in his room, and said thank you God!

I quickly interjected, “I screamed grandma is dead not an angel!” He surmised it was an angel because the answer came at exactly the point when he finished his prayer. God intercedes in our lives! I believe my grandmother departed this earth in peace in the presence of God. She left us all knowing God better due to her many prayers for her son (my father). The last time my grandma spoke to my dad before the stroke she said, “Son, I want you to know that my last prayer will be for you before I die.”

She told my mother that my Dad would preach God’s words when he got older. He is preaching! She knew. God I believe told her to ease her mind regarding her son (my father).

My grandmother loves God. God loves my grandmother.

When we respect Yahweh, God will respect our wishes. My grandmother prayed innumerable prayers for her son over the years wishing he would come to respect and honor the Lord with his life. My grandmother a faithful woman believed God would answer her endless prayers on behalf of her son in His time. The Lord heard that last prayer of a dying mother who knew her only child and son did not walk in a manner pleasing to God.

My father now preaches the word of Yahweh to family and friends–anyone willing to listen. My dad is a devout follower of Yeshua. You cannot separate him from Jehovah and His word. The Holy Spirit of God intervened in my father’s life because of the countless prayers of his mother for him.

As a matter of fact, this website arose from hearing my father preach Yahweh’s word. I wishing to share the love of Yeshua with those lost, deceived, hurting and alone led me to help direct God’s people back into the kingdom of the Almighty. We want to guide God’s people to know that the Creator who established everything we see around us is alive! We can discover more about our Maker in the pages of His word: the Bible! You do not need to search the universe for the Great Spirit although you can try. You can observe the Holy Spirit of Yahweh in your heart and within you. If you look for God there, you will become aware of the existence of God.

There is no limit to what God can and will do for you if you seek him with a humble and pure heart like a child trusting his or her parent every word.

I believe God through His Holy Spirit, quickened my grandmother and took her home. She is not dead; she lives! You and I can live too!

I felt the kingdom of God upon me that day. I heard the voice of God. I could do things that only happen within the kingdom of God–communicate with others via thoughts as well as with God’s Holy Spirit. I, also, recognize God’s presence better now when He speaks. For those who do not know Yahweh, I want you to recognize that you can come to know the Maker by following the manual written in His book to us: the Holy Bible.

7 Key Points From the Story of the Centurion and Widow

Step #1: We need to take our burdens to God with humility.  There are some struggles we cannot overcome on our own no matter how hard we try.  The sooner we realize this fact, the quicker we will turn to God to help us.

Let’s look at the heart of the Centurion requesting help from Yeshua to heal his elderly servant who was dear to him, sick, near death and ready to to die–Luke 7:2.  A Roman army unit of 100 back in the time of Yeshua was led by a Roman officer known as a Centurion–“centurion” in Latin means 100. The Centurion’s officer’s humility and desperation really struck me.  When Jesus approached his house, he sent friends out to Jesus to say the following:

Luke 7:6-7 “…Lord, trouble not yourself: for I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof:  Where neither thought I myself worthy to come unto you: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.”

Luke 7:10 And they that were sent, returned to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

He was so humble he didn’t even think he was worthy enough to come to God.  Well God wants us to cry out to Him so He can help us overcome sin and death that binds us.  He wants to free us from the penalty of sin and death that we deserve and that causes us to suffer.  When we like the Centurion exhibit sincere and heartfelt humility, faith and cry out for Yeshua to help us, we like the Centurion will see miracles too!

Step #2: Faith in God is essential.

The Centurion’s faith amazed Yeshua because he didn’t need to see or touch Yeshua to believe.  He knew Yeshua’s power. Do you know Yeshua’s power?  Yeshua praised and marveled at the faith of the Centurion.  He said to the people around Him in Luke 7:9 the following:

I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no not in Israel.

God can speak life back into both dying and dead individuals!  What state are you in? The three states are the following:

1)Dying

2) Dead

3) Alive in Christ by the power of God’s Holy Spirit living in you

Step #3) God sees our tears and loves us.

God does not want to see us weep.  He is here for us to help us overcome our struggles.  Like any parent, God wants the best for His children.  Luke 7:12-13 states,

Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

And When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said unto her, Weep not.

Then in Luke 7:14 Yeshua speaks life into her dead son.  [*A bier a movable frame on which a coffin or a corpse is placed before burial or cremation or on which it is carried to the grave.]

And he came and touched the bier*: and they that bare him stood still.  And he said, Young man, I say unto you, Arise.  And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak.  And he delivered him to his mother.

The truth is that God does not want to see us suffer.  Our bad choices caused us suffering.  He is waiting upon us to humble ourselves and cry out to Him.  He wants us to repent and say that we are sorry that we sinned against Him.  He is waiting for us to ask Him to break us free from sin and suffering and tell Him that we want to live a life free from sin with His help.  Then, He will intervene in our suffering and stop our weeping once we discover the true cost of sin.

Step #4: God shows us compassion and sets us free from bondage to sin.

Yeshua saw the widow’s tears, struggles and showed compassion.  The widow represents us.  We are alone with our problem.  Only God can stop our weeping and suffering and bring life back to us.

Step #5 Yeshua calls us to arise from our dead state.

The widows son came back to life when Yeshua touched him and called him back to life.  God likewise calls us to emerge from darkness and enter back into life with Him.  We possess an opportunity to arise from our old life of death and sin and to walk in newness and righteousness.   Yeshua’s Holy Spirit gives us life and empowers us from within.

Step #6: An Encounter With God.

Yeshua heals blind eyes, deaf ears, lame legs, lepers and dead people.  He brings real life and real hope of eternal life to us.  We no longer need to walk in darkness, sin and death.  We can walk in newness of life with God.

Have You Had This Life Changing Encounter With Yeshua?

Step 7: God visits His People.

We know God and God knows us.  We have a friend in God.  God’s name does not offend us; therefore, we become blessed.  We sought God out and discovered that He is with us.  When we follow the six steps to Yeshua, we discover the wonderful truth: God’s word is true and God is real.  He is who He says that He is; He can do what He says He can do.  We discover what the phrase means: the joy of the Lord. As a result, we can recognize Yeshua has stopped by to see us.  We can share this story of God’s visit with us and testify of God’s goodness.

God Is Always Working Behind The Scenes

An invisible God works behind the scenes. He's like the wind. You cannot see Him, but you can feel and see the effects in your life.
An invisible God works behind the scenes. He’s like the wind. You cannot see Him, but you can feel and see the effects in your life.  He’s the potter and I’m the clay.

During these moments when nothing in my life goes right, how do I know God still works in my life?

I experience a lot of those moments, more than I care to admit.  I feel unsure if God sees and cares about me.  I cannot sense God’s presence!

I realize now I could not feel God’s presence because I tend to focus on all the many problems in my life.  For instance,  I’m working so hard for a job I don’t like anymore.   I, however, don’t want to change jobs again.   Second,  I’m living paycheck to paycheck.  All my bills are overdue,  and it’s a job in itself just trying to stay above water mentally!  By the time my day ends,  I’m so mentally and physically drained I can’t sleep.  Also,  each work day just seems more painful to get through.  I don’t have any more mental space to process anything else.  By the time the weekend comes,  I don’t want to go anywhere or do anything.  I barely have the energy to do housework.  By the time Sunday evening comes around,  I’m crying inside.  I don’t know how I’m going to make it through another week!  I don’t even know if I will have  enough money to make it until payday once everything clears my account.

Until one day I came to the realization that I can’t feel God’s presence because I eliminated Him from my life.  The worst it got the less and less time I spent reading my Bible, praying, and giving my concerns to God.  I got so wrapped up in my troubles, my worries, my situation, I didn’t know how to let anyone in, even God!

God always works in the background, but it is up to us to put him front and center stage of our lives every day!  I wasn’t doing that.  It is still a work in progress.  I can catch myself faster and faster each time those dark moments come because I am aware!  Those moments still come and more intense than I would like.

On October 28, 2015 I made a same day appointment to see my doctor because I’ve been having chest pains off and on for two days now.  By the time I went,  my blood pressure was 209/147 and my EKG was abnormal.  I was transported to the ER where blood work and another EKG was done.  My blood work was fine, but my EKG came back abnormal.  I was sent home with a referral to see a cardiologist for a stress test.

On November 5th I went for the stress test, but my blood pressure was high again and my EKG was still abnormal the cardiologist didn’t want me to do the stress test.  She ordered an angiogram to check the blood flow of my heart and working in the medical field I knew what that meant.

I automatically start thinking the worst.  I have clogged artery. I’m going to have to have a stent or bypass surgery.

I go from thinking the worst to feeling guilty because these are preventable problems.  I know better.  I should have been eating healthier, exercising more, doing more!  By the time I got home I was an emotional wreck!

I didn’t know how I was going to tell my parents.  I had to get myself together before my son arrived home from school.  I decided the only way I’m going to do this is by giving my problems to God!

I’m not going to worry because I don’t even know the results yet.  I put on some uplifting music and started preparing dinner.  By the time I went to bed,  I felt grateful that God gave me the strength to deal with this today!  Tomorrow is Friday, and I have the weekend to breathe a little.

On Friday November 6th, I find out that the pharmacy I’m presently working at was closing down and we are to report back to the main pharmacy on Monday.   So I tell myself at least I still have a job.  It’s nothing to stress about.  My son takes his SATs on Saturday November 7th and his 17th birthday is November 11th.

I am too blessed to be stressed!  On Sunday November 8th, my husband and I made dinner to celebrate and try to get the week started off on a positive note.  Monday is a little stressful being at the main pharmacy, but I made it.   On Tuesday November 10th, work was so busy I barely had a moment to eat, but it’s fine with me.  Tomorrow is my son’s birthday, and I have a few things to pick-up on my way home.  As soon as I clocked out and just about to walk out the door, my boss calls me in the office.

He tells me they are cutting my hours to part time effective immediately, and I can only do four more hours this week.   My heart dropped to the floor.  I couldn’t believe they would wait for the last minute to tell me.  Why not tell me on Friday when we found out we were to report to the main pharmacy on Monday.  I told them that tomorrow is my son’s birthday.  The boss said, take tomorrow off and just do four hours on Thursday.  Then my boss goes on to say you can use this time to do so much such as: go to the gym, this could be a positive thing and just work on you.  The whole time he was talking to me I was thinking: this is my son’s senior year in high school, I have so much to pay for, tomorrow is his birthday, I have my car, rent, insurance, the holiday season is right around the corner, and I have no idea what is going on with my heart until November 19th!

On my way home my mind was all over the place!  I thank God for protecting me and everyone on the road with me because I was mentally not there!  I spoke with my husband and of course he had a million and one questions!  I just listened because I was not in the mood to argue.  After dinner I had a checklist of things I had to do in my head for my son’s birthday tomorrow.  I, however, made it through the night and my son had a wonderful 17th birthday.

On Wednesday November 12th, I went into work trying to stay positive.  Part time is better than no time.  Well that didn’t last long.  I was called in the owner’s office to find out that they were letting me go.  I had to sign a separation agreement and was given $1,000 a month for six months.  I didn’t know what to say.  I just signed and left.  I didn’t know what to do.   I had never been through anything like this before.  I sat in my car around the corner and cried.  I asked God, “Why?”

I’ve tried not to worry and to stay positive.  The more I try not to worry, the more things kept happening.  I prayed and tried to settle down before driving home.  Now I have to tell my husband some more bad news, and it’s just not a good time!

My husband took the news as expected, but I was okay.  I had applied for a job months ago and my test date was next week.  I had prepared and even went on Lynda.com to brush up on some software I haven’t used in a while.  Tuesday November 17th came.  I’m prepared and left a little early to make sure I gave myself time to get there.  Something, however, kept telling me to look at that email one more time.  As I’m waiting for the car to warm up I read the email I printed out and the test date was Monday November 16th not Tuesday November 17th.  Before I could even process whatever emotion was about to come over me, my husband pulled up behind me.  I got out the car, and he immediately asked me “What’s wrong?”  I showed him the paper.  He saw the look on my face and said,  “Come on let’s go in the house.”  I couldn’t even feel anything.  My mind went straight to my angiogram on November 19th, and I couldn’t stress even about this!

Wednesday November 18th, the day before my angiogram was the scariest day I can remember!  Everyone was calling to show their support, but by midday I was terrified!  I couldn’t even tell my husband how afraid I was.  I thought the following:  “I believe in God!  So why am I afraid?”  I felt guilty for feeling afraid.  I didn’t go to sleep until after 3 am.  When my alarm went off at 6 am, I was already up and so afraid I was numb.

My appointment was at 9 am.  After all the nurses, techs, doctors, and pokes, my heart was functioning fine.  I had no clogged arteries.  I was so happy!  All the other disappointments didn’t matter because God answered my prayers for the one thing that counted the most!  As long as I have good health,  I have another chance to get it right and to do what I was created to do!

I’m still trying to process everything that happened the past three weeks.  I’m taking it in a little at a time because as grateful as I am it’s still too much all at once.  In retrospect,  I know god has been working in the background through it all.  I see His hand at work protecting me from things that never even made it to shore.  Whatever God wants me to learn from all this,  I want to make certain I get it!  I don’t want to have to go through these same painful lessons again!

Thus far I discovered that God works in my life during these difficult moments to teach me to trust and rely solely on Him.  God waited for me to take my problems to Him knowing He was my last resort.  He came through for me.  He wants me to trust Him to be my first choice with both the joys and troubles of life.

Why is it important to draw close to God in the good times and the bad? How can your testimony make a difference in the lives of others?  Why share your testimony?  How can others benefit from hearing your testimony and how God works in your life?

I pray and hope my testimony gives you the courage to trust God in all things whether you feel His presence or not–know that God loves you!
