How to know if your house (your actual life) will survive the storms or challenges of this world?

Yeshua or Jesus once warned us about building upon foundations that can withstand the storms in this life.  He teaches us foundational truths to help us to ultimately attain eternal life.  He specifically warns us not to be hearers only of the word, but doers especially of the word.  In this brief story, he paints a picture of a life lived successfully versus one that leads to death. He shares the differences between a life built on a solid foundation resting in truth (hearers and doers of His word) versus a life built on half truths (hearers only and not doers of his word).

“Why do you call Me ‘Master, Master’ and do not do what I say?

Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and does them, I will show you what he is like.

He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock. And when a flood came, the torrent burst against that house but could not shake it, because it had been well built.

“But the one who hears yet does not do is like a man who built a house upon land without a foundation. When the torrent burst against it, immediately it collapsed—and the destruction of that house was great!” (Luke 6:46-49)

When you lack the doing aspect of His words, you lack a solid foundation for your life.  When the storms hit your house or life, the storms will destroy you.  Your life or house must stand on a solid foundation: Yahweh’s truth.  You must build your life on a solid foundation because a hurricane is coming and that storm will determine whether your life will stand or collapse under the pressure.  If your life is built on truth in Yeshua’s words–hearer and doer then you will thrive in the storm.

John says this truth shall set you free from a life that ultimately leads to the destruction of your soul–both physical and spiritual death.

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:31-32)

This country song captures the essence of making sure your life is built on a solid foundation (on the truths of Yeshua found within the four gospels of Mark, Matthew, Luke and John).
